Remember telling secrets, whispered in the dark? Gripping the edge of your sleeping bag with the absolute thrill of being “in” on something BIG. At a certain age, knowing each other’s secrets was what being “best friends” was all about. Keeping each other’s secrets was the stuff of legend.
Where does that special kind of connection go when you grow up?
Connection is a fundamental human need. After food, clothing, and shelter, it’s the primary thing we’re all seeking—one way or another.
Do you look for it via sex?
Were you taught that your body must be “good enough” to deserve connection… so you get sidetracked?
Do you seek adventure and intrigue (and end up alone, drinking champagne at 2 am)?
Did you lock down a partner early, to try and feel secure forever?
